North Seattle House Fire Still Under Investigation

4:50 p.m. UPDATE: Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire was accidental/electrical, caused by an overheated amplifier seen in the picture in the post.

At 12:53 p.m. a neighbor reporting smoke coming from the eaves of a house in the 300 block of North 100th Street. Firefighters arrived and found a fire inside a 1-story house with a daylight basement. Firefighter’s efforts were hampered by a large amount of combustible materials piled waist-high inside the home. Within 15minutes firefighters had the fire under control. Seattle Police Arson Bomb Squad was called to the scene to pick up black powder inside the house.

No one was home at the time of the fire.  There were no injuries.

The damage estimate is $25,000 to the contents and $40,000 to the structure.
