Short-term Lane Closures for Utility Work on 23rd Avenue from April 6-30

The City of Seattle advises travelers of short-term lane closures from April 6 through April 30 while Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) crews perform utility work on 23rd Avenue between S Jackson and E Cherry streets. SPU crews will replace older water service lines intermittently throughout the month of April in preparation for replacing the 100-year-old water main underneath 23rd Avenue.

The water main replacement work will be done as part of the 23rd Avenue Corridor Improvements Project construction, which begins mid-May. The City of Seattle thanks the community for its patience while this work is being completed.

What to expect during SPU’s utility work:

Short-term lane closures: Lanes along 23rd Avenue from S Jackson to E Cherry streets will be reduced from four to two, maintaining one lane in each direction. Vehicle and pedestrian access to businesses and residences will be maintained.

Parking restrictions: Some street parking on adjacent side streets will be temporarily restricted.

Work hours: Between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays; between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekends.
