A man caught on camera sneaking into a University District sorority house earlier this month is now a person of interest in a series of break-ins near the college campus.
Police have been investigating a series of burglaries at rooming houses around the University District, including several incidents where women reported waking up in the middle of the night to find a strange man in their rooms.
On February 20th, cameras at a sorority house captured a man following a woman down the street in the the 4500 block of 17th Avenue NE. As the woman entered through a secure door at the home, the man quickened his pace, caught the door before it shut, and walked inside. The man stared directly at a security camera before walking up a flight of stairs and abruptly turning and leaving.
