Full nighttime closure of Dexter Avenue N begins Feb. 25; Daytime lane restrictions on southbound Dexter Avenue N; upcoming Mercer Street night work

SDOT is advising travelers of the following work within the corridor:

Nighttime full closure of Dexter Avenue N begins Wednesday, Feb. 25

Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 25 and continuing through March 5, crews will begin night-time closures on Dexter Avenue N between Republican and Mercer streets for electrical work. Closures will run from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each weeknight, excluding Friday.

Travelers can expect the following impacts:

  • Dexter Avenue N will be fully closed between Republican and Mercer streets.
  • Travelers will be detoured to Ninth Avenue N.
  • This closure will not be in place Friday evenings.
  • Please plan ahead and expect traffic delays.

Please note that this work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled for later dates if inclement weather occurs.

Ongoing daytime lane restrictions on Dexter Avenue N

Crews will continue electrical work on Dexter Avenue N Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for approximately two weeks. During these hours, southbound Dexter Avenue N will be reduced to one lane between Roy and Mercer streets.

As a reminder, southbound Dexter Avenue N will also be restricted to one lane between Roy and Mercer streets between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday for approximately six weeks.

Upcoming night work on Mercer Street

Crews will be performing electrical work on Mercer Street each night Monday through Thursday between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. beginning March 9 for approximately four weeks. Travelers can expect the following impacts:

  • Westbound Mercer Street will be reduced to one lane between Ninth Avenue N and SR99.
  • Eastbound Mercer Street will be reduced to two lanes between SR 99 and Ninth Avenue N.
  • This closure will not be in place Friday evenings.
