Park will remain open during construction of 2.65 million gallon storage tank
Seattle Public Utilities will start construction this week within Seward Park to build an underground combined sewer storage tank. The 2.65 million gallon tank will reduce the amount of untreated sewage and stormwater that overflows into Lake Washington during heavy rains.
To build the tank underneath the existing tennis courts at the park, the adjacent parking lot and tennis courts will be closed and rebuilt following construction, scheduled to be complete in 2017. The park will remain open during construction.
