Mercer Corridor Project: Upcoming lane restrictions on Mercer, Dexter, and Fifth Avenue North

The Seattle Department of Transportation advises travelers of the upcoming Mercer Corridor lane closures listed below. Please plan ahead and expect traffic delays. All work is weather-dependent and may be cancelled and rescheduled if inclement weather occurs.

Southbound Dexter Avenue North lane restriction February 17-19

Crews will continue electrical work on Dexter Avenue North between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. beginning Feb. 17 for approximately three days. Southbound Dexter Avenue North will be reduced to one lane between Roy and Mercer streets.

Eastbound Mercer Street lane restriction February 17-20

One lane of eastbound Mercer Street will remain closed 24/7 as crews continue concrete paving activities through Feb. 20.

Northbound Fifth Avenue North lane restriction February 19

One lane of northbound Fifth Avenue North will remain closed overnight on Feb.19 between Broad and Harrison streets. The closure will start at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Feb.19 and continue through 7 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 20. In addition to the overnight closure, one lane of northbound Fifth Avenue North will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for the next few weeks for electrical and sidewalk work.

Nighttime lane restrictions on Mercer Street and Dexter Avenue North, beginning February 23

Crews will continue electrical work on Mercer Street and Dexter Avenue North each night Monday through Thursday (not Friday) between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. beginning Feb. 23 for approximately four weeks. Travelers can expect the following impacts:  

  • Southbound Dexter Avenue North reduced to one lane between Roy and Mercer streets.
  • Mercer Street reduced to one lane between Ninth Avenue North and SR 99.
  • Eastbound Mercer Street reduced to two lanes between SR 99 and Ninth Avenue North.
