SDOT advises travelers of the following construction work within the Mercer Corridor Project Area that will impact commute and traffic:
Lane restrictions on eastbound Mercer Street begin January 28
Eastbound Mercer Street will be restricted to one lane between Fifth Avenue N and Ninth Avenue N from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for approximately two weeks. This closure will accommodate lighting work under the SR 99 bridge over Mercer Street. Please plan ahead and expect traffic delays.
Full closure of Taylor Avenue N
Taylor Avenue N will continue to be fully closed between Roy and Mercer streets Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as crews install a curb ramp and complete finishing work. Travelers can expect the following impacts for approximately two weeks:
- Turns to and from Mercer Street at Taylor Avenue N will be prohibited.
- Travelers from Queen Anne should use Fifth Avenue N to access Mercer Street.
- Local access to businesses on Taylor Avenue N between Mercer and Roy streets will be maintained from Roy Street.
Following the completion of this work, Taylor Avenue N is expected to open to northbound traffic.
Please note this work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the case of inclement weather. Thank you for your patience while we work to to finish these projects.
