Seattle Animal Shelter adoption event at Uptown Mud Bay

Are you considering adding a cat, dog or critter to your home? Stop by the Uptown Mud Bay from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, and meet adoptable animals from the Seattle Animal Shelter. This adoption event is part of the grand opening celebration for Mud Bay’s new Uptown Adoption Center, located at 522 Queen Anne Ave. N. in Seattle.

A variety of cats, dogs and critters will be on-site and available for adoption. Shelter volunteers, foster parents and staff will be on hand to answer questions and help potential adopters find the perfect match for them.

“We are excited to showcase these happy, healthy animals, just waiting for their forever homes,” said Seattle Animal Shelter Director Don Jordan. “When you adopt a pet, not only are you saving a life, but your adoption fee supports the shelter’s work and helps other animals as well.”

Adoption prices range from $15 to $145 (plus applicable license fees). The adoption fee includes:

  • Certificate for free health exams at local veterinarians
  • Initial vaccinations
  • Spay or neuter
  • Microchip
  • Deworming
  • Feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus testing (cats only)

For Seattle residents, a two-year pet license must be purchased with each adoption. The license fee is $27 for cats and $37 for dogs. Critter adoptions do not require licensing.

The Seattle Animal Shelter, located at 2061 15th Ave. W., is open Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. for adoptions and licensing. For more information, call 206-386-7387 (PETS) or visit www.seattleanimalshelter.org.
