A 44-year-old woman jogging through Interlaken Park on Thursday afternoon told police a man grabbed her from behind and choked her until she lost consciousness.
According the victim, she was jogging east through the park around 3:20 PM when a man approached from behind and wrapped his arms around her neck. The woman reported both she and the man rolled down an embankment before she lost consciousness.
When she woke up, the suspect was gone. However, when she climbed back up the embankment she saw a man she believed to be her attacker quickly walking away. He was wearing a maroon hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
The victim’s skin and clothing were soiled with dirt from the struggle, but she was not sexually assaulted and nothing was stolen. Police are investigating the incident.
