Man Shot, Woman Injured In Early-Morning Hold-Up In West Seattle

One man was shot and a woman was struck by shrapnel in a robbery in the parking lot of a West Seattle convenience store early this morning.

Police received reports from 9000 block of Delridge Avenue SW just before 4:30 AM of an loud argument, followed by gunfire and then screaming.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a wounded man—who was struck in the leg by gunfire—and an injured woman, who was apparently hit by debris or shrapnel.

Medics transported both victims to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police believe a gunman opened fire on the victims after attempting to rob them for a cell phone.

The gunman and three other men fled the scene in a vehicle, described by witnesses as either a gold Buick or gray Ford Taurus.

Robbery detectives are at the scene speaking witnesses and looking for evidence. We’ll have more updates on this incident as they become available.
