Seattle night owl alert

This one’s for the party animals. If you find yourself headed through downtown Seattle from 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday, August 16, be ready for some lane restrictions. During those hours, our maintenance staff is closing the three right lanes of northbound Interstate 5 from under the Washington State Convention Center to Olive Way for some maintenance work. We don’t expect any significant congestion but you never know, so be prepared.

Are you ready for some football?

Those Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks will make their first home appearance since winning the Lombardi Trophy when they play a preseason game at 7 p.m. Friday, August 15 against the San Diego Chargers. No doubt the offensive line will provide plenty of blocking and the Legion of Boom should present a tough road for the Charger offense, but to try to avoid similar trouble of your own, plan ahead, leave early and know that CenturyLink Field is going to be packed.

Meanwhile, along the Seattle waterfront, Seattle Hempfest runs from Friday to Sunday at various locations. It’s always busy with plenty of traffic for the event so again, be prepared, plan ahead and be safe out there!
