Creative Advantage summer events

What makes Seattle a #CreativeCity? Come tell us at Capitol Hill Block Party, Bumbershoot, Umoja Fest and more events happening this summer! Over the next few months, members of the community will have the opportunity to engage and learn more about The Creative Advantage, which is restoring arts education for all students in Seattle Public Schools by 2020.

At the Capitol Hill Block Party, watch for a special performance from Seattle rapper, Sol, on Saturday, July 26! For all three days of Block Party, attendees of the festival will be encouraged to let us know what they think makes Seattle a #CreativeCity through an interactive installation.

The Creative Advantage will also be involved at Umoja Fest from August 1-3. Look out for our engagement booth and a performance by Washington Middle School Drum Line, a program of Arts Corps, and Seattle JazzED!

Following Umoja Fest, on the Sunday at Bumbershoot, August 31, Washington Middle School Drum Line will return for a marching performance, led by their director, Aaron Walker-Loud. Want to learn more about arts education? We’ll be around the festival sharing information; check back for when and where. We also have exciting announcements for Decibel Festival, in September, , and other community festivals this summer, so stay tuned!

We think Bumbershoot, Umoja Fest, Capitol Hill Block Party and Decibel Fest all have a hand in making Seattle a #CreativeCity, and we’re so excited to talk to you about arts education at all these events!
