Update: traction spot repairs on W Dravus, SW Genesee, and SW Charlestown streets are on hold

Seattle Department of Transportation recently announced that its contractor would be working this month on several streets around the city including West Dravus Street between 28th Avenue West and 20th Avenue West, and parts of Southwest Charlestown and Southwest Genesee streets, to improve surface traction. While the contractor’s crews were able to complete a good portion of the work, they found their equipment could not do the job on the steepest slopes which are on the streets mentioned above. They will look into other equipment and methods to see if there is another way. The work is now on hold until further notice.
