Entry road to Carkeek Park to be closed for one day on May 8

SDOT will complete repaving project

Repaving work by the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will require a one-day closure of NW Carkeek Park Road, the road into Carkeek Park in northwest Seattle. The road into the park is expected to be closed to vehicular traffic on or around Thursday, May 8 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The repaving work will be completed weather permitting.

Carkeekā€™s regular operating hours are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., so from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. on May 8, the entry road will be open as usual. Bicycle and pedestrian access will be curtailed on the entry road on May 8, but unpaved trails into and through the park will be open as usual.

The repaving of NW Carkeek Park Road is part of a larger repaving project by SDOT in the immediate surrounding neighborhood, including 8th Ave. NW, NW 114th Pl., NW 116th St., 6th Ave. NW and NW 117th St.

The repaving project is expected to be completed over a period of two weeks beginning May 6, 2014 and ending on Friday, May 16. Typical working hours are between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
