Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of a man earlier this evening in the Central District. Just before 11:00 pm, East Precinct officers responded to several reports of shots fired near 28th Avenue and South Charles Street. When officers arrived, they saw an adult man lying in the street. The victim was not breathing and had obvious gun shot wounds. Officers immediately began CPR until the Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and took over life-saving measures. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center. Despite the efforts of first responders, the victim died from his injuries.
Witnesses reported hearing several vehicles leaving the area following the shooting, but at this point detectives do not have any suspect description to provide. If anyone has any information on this homicide they are urged to contact the Seattle Police. Homicide detectives will be conducting the follow up investigation.
